The Myth of Domestic Bliss, Self Portrait

A two-headed woman – one face turned outward / one face / swiveling slowly in (Clifton)— at work. My practice uses the interplay of narrative, portrait, and performance to attend to quiet, contemplation, Black ancestral veneration, and ritual honor of the natural world.

In my latest work, Return to Sender (Portugal), I employ the juxtaposition of radical Black feminist theory and afrosurrealism to explore the inner life and healing of Black rape survivors through self portraiture and performance.
